Estate Litigation

Cambridge LLP is a leader among firms in the practice of litigation, and estate litigation is one area where Cambridge has exceptional expertise and experience. The spectrum of cases we have dealt with involve: challenging of the validity of Wills and trusts, interpretation issues involving trusts and Wills, trustee/executor negligence, trustee and estate accountings (passing of accounts), guardianship of property and person applications, disputes over the performance of an executor/trustee, spousal and dependent children support claims, and power of attorney disputes. Beyond the unique and complex issues in this area of practice, estate litigation is known to be emotionally charged and stressful for the parties. Our lawyers are sensitive to this dynamic and do their best to be supportive but at the same time firm in advising clients so that decisions, in the end, are in the economic best interests of our clients.

The estate litigation team is led by two partners who are certified by the Law Society as "Specialists" in their practices. Such certification is granted only to a select few. Founding Partner, Adam Cappelli, is Certified as Specialist is Estates & Trusts Law and has over 20 years of experience. Doug Elliott is certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation and is a Law Society Medal recipient. Mr. Elliott and Mr. Cappelli bring a unique blend of expertise to each client file.

Together, they manage all client relationships and oversee any work done by other Cambridge lawyers, clerks, and staff. A team approach is what separates Cambridge LLP from many other firms. By leveraging the various levels of legal experience, Cambridge LLP is able to be more responsive and efficient with the delivery of its legal services. Whether you are carrying out your responsibilities as an executor and trustee, disputing the validity of a Will or asserting your rights as a beneficiary under an estate, Cambridge LLP has the legal expertise and resources to help you.
